WOW Calendars
Words Of the Week
Words of the Week (WOW) is designed to help parents and educators teach Core Vocabulary by focusing on words and concepts each week. WOW seeks to provide students with increased exposure and opportunity to core words. Core Words target practice in a variety of activities with a variety of topics across the school day. Share these words and activities with families for home practice! The calendar below is designed to support implementing core words through lesson plans, routines and daily life. Larger sized icons for downloading are provided to the right for your convenience. Hyper-links within the calendar lead to supporting media. For additional support, contact Kellie Cullen (kellie.cullen@fwisd.org). If you have fun ideas and activities, email us so we can add them to this page! Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

According to the United Nations, communication is a human right, and for those who work with individuals who use Augmentative Alternative Communication
(AAC), we realize the urgency in making sure their system(s) are available at all times. We also realize that accessibility across settings cannot occur without the
provision of training, coordination and planning and so such implementation supports remain the cornerstone of what we do. We also know that the depth and breadth of such support and habituation of use is only within reach with targeted planning and teamwork. As a team, we determine potential opportunities in daily life, the community, at home, school and work. Resource December Core
